It all started in SoHo
During a 2022 trip to NYC, Cynthia found herself walking endlessly—but her shoes couldn’t keep up. Searching for boots that were stylish, comfortable, eco-friendly, and vegan, she was stunned to find nothing that met her needs. In the heart of one of the world’s fashion capitals, she thought, “How can I not find what I’m looking for in New York City?”
Back at her hotel, inspiration struck. She sketched her vision on a napkin, not knowing this would become the foundation for her brand. After three years of research, development, and countless prototypes, AKANOMA launched in 2024—a testament to never giving up on your dreams.
